5 kW · roughly $14k to $18k
A good fit for a lower-usage household or a smaller roof. All-in, turnkey, before any financing.
7 to 8 kW · about $20k to $22k
Where a lot of Edmonton family homes land. Sized to cancel most or all of a normal annual bill.
10 kW · roughly $25k to $31k
For higher usage, electric heat, or an EV in the garage. More panels, bigger offset, same honest per-watt math.

Why there is a range inside each size
The reason for a range inside each size is real hardware and roof differences, not sales games. A simple south-facing asphalt roof costs less to do than a steep multi-face roof with obstructions. I quote off your actual power bill and a look at your roof, because a number pulled from square footage is a guess, and a guess is how people end up with change orders.
