The Crew Behind the Panels

50+ Projects Completed across Alberta since August 2025.

14 years on the tools, Master Electrician, and my own roof has been running since 2022. Every job on that list was designed and signed off by an owner, not a subcontractor. We chase the work we can stand behind, not the volume.

Two owners. Both on every quote, every install, every callback. Your call lands on our actual phones, not a call center, not a sales rep.

“Friendly, helpful and great group of guys to work with. Communicated well and worked into our time slot. They almost seemed like family. Did a great job and gave lots of information. They went over and above to make our journey into solar a great experience. Would highly recommend their business to everyone.”

★★★★★
“Awesome experience with Dima. I come from an automotive background and Dima was fantastic at explaining everything to me. I got a free lesson in house electrical and got everything fixed. He went over all the options for adding solar down the road and all the different options I had. His app and calculators are fantastic and easy to use. Highly recommend anyone who's thinking of going solar to contact him. Super easy, super friendly and the way he's able to teach you at the same time.”
Devin Guedo · Verified Google review
★★★★★
“Dmitry was 10/10 to work with from start to finish. He was able to diagnose a problem in our rental property and have it fixed the same day. Our tenant was very impressed with his work, professionalism, and cleanliness. We will definitely work with Raydn going forward and it is with the utmost confidence that we would recommend their services.”

Judge the work, not the pitch

Five things you can check on any electrical job, including ours.

Every electrical company in Alberta will tell you they do quality work. Almost none of them tell you how to check. So here is how, on five things, and not one of them needs a licence or a ladder. Use them on us before you use them on anybody else.

Tap any check.

Finished Siemens electrical panel in an Edmonton basement with combed and bent conductors
Open the door

Look inside the panel

The inside of a panel is the one place a crew cannot fake at the end of the day. Either the wires were combed as they went in or they were not.

What to look atHow the conductors are combed and bent
Good work looks likeSweeping bends, wires combed to their breakers, nothing crossing the neutral bar
A rush job looks likeWires cut short and forced into sharp corners, bundles crossing over each other

Why it matters.

  1. A conductor pulled hard around a sharp corner carries stress on the insulation right at that bend.
  2. That is where a fault shows up in ten years, not on inspection day, which is exactly why it gets away with it.

How to check it yourself.

  1. Ask to see inside before the cover goes back on. Anyone proud of the work will hold the door open for you.
  2. Anyone who tells you the panel is not for customers to look at has just answered the question.

Five checks. None of them need a licence. If a quote cannot survive them, that is the quote telling you something.

The short version

  • Before RaydnTwo industrial electricians up north. Long days, long drives.
  • In the truckAt first it was a joke. But we meant it.
  • August 8, 2025Raydn Renewables registered.
  • By SeptemberOn a roof.
  • Since then50+ projects across Alberta.

The long version is below.

01

How it started

Raydn Renewables started the way a lot of things do in Alberta. Work slowed down, bills don't, and you go where the work is.

Solar can be all over the place out here. One minute it's busy, next minute it's dead quiet, especially heading into winter. It gets political, it gets pushed around, and when it slows down you either sit and wait or you head north. I chose to head north.

02

Meeting Kyle

That’s where I met my business partner.

We were both up there doing industrial electrical work in the oilfield. Long days, out of town, same grind as everyone else. Oil was booming, solar wasn't, and we were just doing what it takes to keep moving.

Somewhere between job sites and long drives, we started talking. At first it was just talk, joking around, saying one day we'd run our own jobs, be our own bosses, not have to chase work all over the place anymore.

But we meant it.

We didn't want to live out of a bag forever. We wanted to build something of our own, take care of our families properly, and actually be around for it. Have an acreage, have a farm, get things paid off, and not be stressed out all the time. Just live the Alberta dream the way it's supposed to be.

That's where Raydn Renewables came from.

03

August 2025

Mid-August 2025, I flew down to Vegas for a jujitsu tournament. Got home, had the paperwork done within a week, and by September we were on the roof for our first job. Raydn was registered August 8, 2025. We've been working ever since, subbing where we have to, building the company the right way. That's why we're going hard for our own jobs now.

Registered August 8, 2025. On a roof by September. Haven't slowed down since.
04

The other half

That business partner is Kyle V. His card is up at the top of this page, so I will not list his ticket twice. What the card does not tell you is that the low profile is his choice. No face on a billboard, no bio. He would rather be on the roof.

If your panel is tidy, your conduit is straight, and your system got commissioned properly, that is Kyle's standard showing up in the work.

And if I am on another site the day yours goes in, it is Kyle or a licensed guy off our own five-person crew. Never a sub. That is the whole reason we keep it in-house.

05

The solar boys

And honestly, a lot of it was held together with humor. That's what keeps you sane out there. Long days, crappy weather, things going sideways, you've got to be able to laugh.

We still carry that with us. Around here we call ourselves the solar boys. We like being out in the sun, we're basically solar powered at this point. Give us some sunlight and we're good. Pretty much photosynthesis with tool belts.

What started as joking around in a truck turned into a real company.
06

The Raydn standard

This isn't a side thing and it's not a test run. There's no backup plan. This is it for us. When you call, you're talking to one of us. Not a call center, not an office. Our actual phones. If something comes up, even after the job, you can call anytime.

When you call, you're talking to one of us. Not a call center, not an office. Our actual phones.

That's why we care so much about how the work gets done.

We hold everything to what we call the Raydn standard.

  • No shortcuts

Permitted, inspected, torqued to spec and labelled.

  • No half done work

Nothing gets left as a temporary fix and a promise to come back.

  • No disappearing after install

Two owners, one number, and we both still answer it.

  • Our names on every job

Mine is Dmitry Naboka, Master Electrician #13824. Kyle V. is the other.

Our names are on every job and we take that seriously.

We started saying making the world a better place one panel at a time as a bit of a joke back in the early days. But it stuck, because that's really what we're doing. Good work, done properly, and trying to leave things a little better than we found them.

That's Raydn.

Part Two · Why We Do It

The meter spun backwards. The customer's face lit up. That's when I knew.

The first solar job I ever did, the meter spun backwards. The customer's face lit up brighter than any light I had ever installed. They were genuinely happy about their next electrical bill. That was the moment I knew I was doing something worthwhile, actually using my skills to make a positive change.

I was happy enough working for somebody else. But every company I worked for, the boss eventually wanted more output for the same input, sometimes less. Residential has a fly-by attitude in spots, but every shop I saw had the same problem: they did not put their people first.

I wanted to do it differently. So we build a team we trust and deal with those people only. Slow growth, definite direction. Slow growth in the proper direction is worth more than weeds growing everywhere.

From a tiny acorn grows a mighty oak tree.

Raydn is an acorn right now. We aim to be the oak.

I've had this number since grade 8. I'm not going anywhere. No disappearing after a job. I will honor our warranties and always be ready to help out with maintenance and service calls.

Free assessment. No door-to-door. Usually same day. First thing next morning at the latest.
