Why Raydn exists.
Every self-performed solar, battery, EV, and electrical job in Edmonton moves us closer to one long-term mission: a dog sanctuary on 10 to 12 acres near Edmonton, owner-funded out of the work we do here.
This is not a charity campaign. It is the reason we hold the trade standard this high.

The mission in one sentence.
A defined share of owner-earned profit from every self-performed job funds a future dog sanctuary. 10 to 12 acres near Edmonton, up to 50 dogs at full build, powered by the same solar and batteries we install.
That is the long-term plan. The fund is real. The acreage is the target. The timeline depends on how the business performs.
What the goal pays for.
- Land. 10 to 12 acres within reasonable drive of Edmonton, zoned for the use.
- Perimeter and runs. Proper fencing, separated runs, shaded play areas, weather shelter.
- Kennels and intake. A heated, insulated kennel building with quarantine intake, vet-prep room, and washroom.
- Power. A solar array, battery storage, and proper electrical service so the site can keep running through outages. This is the part we know best.
- Operating runway. Food, vet partnerships, transport, and the first staff hires so the sanctuary opens stable, not stretched.
The $250,000 figure is the working internal target for the build-out. It is not a pledge to donors. It is a number Dmitry and the ownership team are aiming the business at.
Why this makes us better at the work.
Most contractors have one job: collect the cheque, move on. We have two: collect the cheque, and move a real mission forward. That second job changes how we behave on the first.
- Every callback is money we owe the sanctuary. So we do the install once, properly.
- Every honest quote is a referral six months later. Referrals fund the mission faster than door-knocking ever will.
- Every warranty visit is an investment in the long game. We show up the same way the second year as the first.
Do the work right. Earn the review. Earn the referral. Move the mission. That is the loop.
The 6 milestones.
The fund moves in stages. The tracker on the homepage updates as we hit each one.
- 5% · Site survey + land scouting underway. Initial deposits, due diligence on parcels.
- 15% · First deposit on land. Real money down on a real parcel.
- 35% · Acreage secured. Title in hand. The dirt is real.
- 60% · Fencing + first shelter built. Perimeter, runs, intake building.
- 85% · Solar + battery powering the kennels. The whole site runs on what we install for a living.
- 100% · First dogs home. The day the sanctuary actually opens.
Drag the fund
Six milestones, and what each one buys. Drag to any level and the tool names the stage that money reaches.
$0 0% of the $250,000 working targetBefore milestone one
Fund building. Nothing committed yet.
The first milestone is at 5%. Below that the money is still stacking and no parcel work has started.
The $250,000 figure is the working internal target for the build out. It is not a pledge to donors, and no dollar amount of any customer invoice is committed to it.
Why dogs.
Dmitry grew up around working dogs. Every shop, every job site, every house Raydn has quoted has a dog in the story. Alberta’s rescue system is overrun. The bottleneck isn’t love. It’s square footage, heated buildings, reliable power. Three things Raydn does well.
This is not a feel-good add-on. It is the reason the company exists in this form.
How customers move the mission.
You do not donate. You do not get pitched. You hire Raydn because the work is good, the quote is honest, and the install is clean. The mission funds itself from that.
The most useful thing a happy customer can do: leave a Google review and refer a neighbour. Reviews and referrals are how a self-performing, no-subcontractor electrical company grows. Growth funds the mission.
Questions people ask.
Is this a registered charity?
No. The Raydn Dog Sanctuary Fund is an owner-led mission funded by Raydn Renewables out of profit on self-performed jobs. Donations are not solicited and tax receipts are not issued. If that ever changes, this page will say so plainly and the structure will be disclosed.
Is a portion of my invoice going to the sanctuary?
No specific dollar amount of any individual customer invoice is committed to the fund. The fund is built from owner-earned profit on self-performed Raydn work, after labour, materials, warranty reserves, and operating costs. You are hiring an electrical company, not making a donation.
Why $250,000? Why 10 to 12 acres? Why 50 dogs?
These are working internal targets, based on what a properly built, properly powered Alberta sanctuary actually costs to stand up. The numbers may move as we get closer to a specific parcel. The targets are aspirational, not contractual.
When will the sanctuary open?
There is no committed date. The sanctuary opens when the fund and the operating runway can support it without compromising the build quality. The tracker on the homepage will show real progress as it moves.
Where will it be?
Within reasonable drive of Edmonton, on a parcel zoned for the use. Exact location is undecided until acreage is secured. We expect rural Strathcona, Parkland, Leduc, or Sturgeon county.
Will it really run on solar and battery?
That is the design intent. The same solar, battery, and panel work we do for customers every week is what we plan to run the sanctuary on. It is one of the reasons we are in this business in the form we are in.
Will Raydn customers be invited out?
Yes. Once the sanctuary is operational, customers, referral partners, and the trades community in Alberta will be invited to visit. That is part of the long-term plan.
How is the tracker number calculated?
The tracker shows the running total set aside in the sanctuary fund as of the date shown. The acreage and dog figures are translations of the dollar progress against the $250,000 / 12-acre / 50-dog working targets, not separate fundraising buckets.
Can I help in some other way?
The single most useful thing is hiring Raydn for work you would have hired someone for anyway, then leaving an honest Google review afterward. Reviews and referrals are what grow the company. The company is what funds the sanctuary.
Plain language.
- Raydn Renewables is not a registered charity. The Raydn Dog Sanctuary Fund is an internal owner-led initiative funded by company profit on self-performed work.
- No tax receipts are issued and no portion of any specific customer invoice is committed. This page describes a long-term aspirational mission, not a financial commitment to any third party.
