Dmitry showed up on time, tracked down the problem quickly, and got everything working exactly the way it should be. He took the time to answer all of our questions and explained the fix without any of the usual contractor runaround. It’s hard to find tradesmen who show up, do clean work, and actually know their stuff inside and out. Honest guys, great service, and zero BS.

The ecosystem advantage

The same Master Electrician who wires a 9.56 kW array changes your dead plug

Most outfits run a service van and an energy crew that never speak. Mine is one crew, so a service call is also a free look at everything you might want later.

  1. 1 You call about one thing A dead circuit, a tripping breaker, a light that has to go.
  2. 2 The panel gets read anyway While I am in there I read the load, the torque and the space you have left.
  3. 3 You hear it that day If the panel will not carry an EV charger or a hot tub, you find out on the spot, with a number.
  4. 4 Same crew does the rest EV charger, panel upgrade, pot lights, smart switches, battery, solar. No handoff, no salesperson.

Why that matters on a $180 service call

The same hands do the advanced work. My own roof has been on record since September 2022. 31,581 kWh across 47 months on record, best month 1,358 kWh in July 2026, and a power bill that has come back negative. That is the standard the small jobs get held to as well.

The Honest Version

Solar is on the list, but not for every house

Solar is not worth your money on every house. I will tell you that.

Bad roof orientation

Heavy shade

A roof with three years left

Or a roof that needs replacing in three years and it is not worth your money yet.

If your roof does work, the numbers are better than most people think. Run your own address through the calculator before anyone books you a sales appointment. Run the solar calculator on your address.

Asked every week

The questions I get on the phone before anyone books

Real answers, the same ones I give on the phone. Tap a question.

Why does my breaker keep tripping?

A breaker that trips is doing its job. It is telling you the circuit is carrying more than it should, or something on it has failed. The usual causes I find are too much load on one kitchen circuit, a failed appliance pulling current it should not, or a loose connection heating up inside a box. Replacing the breaker without finding the cause just moves the problem.

What does an electrician charge for a service call in Edmonton?

Mine is $180 and that covers the trip and the first hour of diagnosis. If the repair takes longer than that hour, I give you the number before I start. You will not get an invoice with a surprise on it.

Can you put pot lights in a house with no attic access?

Usually yes, but it changes the job. With no attic to work from, the wiring gets fished through the ceiling from below and the layout has to follow the joists rather than the drawing. That is why I look at the ceiling before I price it instead of quoting per light over the phone.

Why do my LED lights flicker on a dimmer?

Almost always a dimmer that was built for incandescent bulbs and is now running LEDs. The minimum load is wrong for the fixture. The fix is a dimmer rated for the LED load you actually have, and sometimes a different bulb. It is not the wiring in the wall.

My plug is dead but the breaker has not tripped. What is it?

Check for a tripped GFCI somewhere else first, often in a bathroom or the garage, because a string of plugs can sit downstream of one. After that, the most common cause I find is a backstabbed connection that has worked loose behind a receptacle further up the circuit.

Do I need a permit for electrical work in Edmonton?

Work that changes the wiring needs a permit, and I pull it. Swapping a light for a light generally does not. When you are not sure, ask me before the work, not after, because an inspection on unpermitted work is a much more expensive conversation.

Do you work on older Edmonton homes with aluminum branch wiring?

Yes. Aluminum needs the right connectors and the right torque, and it needs every device on the circuit looked at rather than just the one that failed. If a house has it, I tell you what I find and what it will take, in writing.

How fast can you come out?

Same day when I have a truck free, and I say so honestly when I do not. You get a real answer on the phone from the Master Electrician, not a booking window from a call centre.

Will you try to sell me solar while you are here?

No. Solar is on my list because I install it, not because every house should have it. If your roof or your consumption does not suit it, I will tell you that and go back to the job you called me for.

Do you do maintenance for landlords and property managers?

Yes, and repeat work is most of what the service side does. Same Master Electrician every visit, photos with the invoice, and a written note of anything I saw that will need attention later so you can budget for it.
