That quote has 9 lines that matter. We read all of them, free.

A solar contract is $25,000 to $45,000. A Master Electrician reads the actual document and tells you what is fair, what is missing, and what to ask before you sign. Even if the quote is not from us. If you want to know what a fair quote looks like before you send me yours, the economics of solar page walks the dollars per watt in pictures.

★★★★★
“We were having some ongoing issues with the solar system that another company originally installed a while back. I called Raydn Renewables to come out and do some maintenance to see if they could sort it out. Dmitry showed up on time, tracked down the problem quickly, and got everything working exactly the way it should be. He took the time to answer all of our questions and explained the fix without any of the usual contractor runaround. It's hard to find tradesmen who show up, do clean work, and actually know their stuff inside and out. If you need reliable solar maintenance or a solid electrician in Alberta, I'd highly recommend Dmitry and the Raydn team. Honest guys, great service, and zero BS.”

★★★★★
“Had a great experience with Raydn Renewables. Dima and his team were friendly, professional, and easy to work with from start to finish. They answered all my questions, showed up when they said they would, and the installation was done quickly and looks awesome. You can tell they really care about doing quality work and making sure everything is done right. The whole process was way easier than I expected, and I never felt like they were trying to sell me something I didn't need. I'd definitely recommend Raydn Renewables to anyone looking for solar or electrical work. Really happy with the service!”

Anatomy of a Quote

Nine lines decide if a quote is fair. Here is what we look at.

An illustrative example, not a real customer's quote. Same system, same Alberta home. One quote written by a Master Electrician working direct. One from a commission-based sales channel that reaches homeowners at their door or at events. Read both, side by side.

Illustrative example built to show the nine lines that matter. Figures are representative of what we see in Alberta, not a specific company's quote. Your real numbers come from your own quote and roof.

What each number means

1Price per watt. Alberta 2026 fair range: $2.25 to $3.00. Above $3.10 needs a reason. $4+ is a red flag.
2Permit line. Must be itemized ($250 to $500 in Edmonton). No permit means no legal install.
3Monitoring. Yes or no, and the brand. Standard on modern installs.
4Warranty. Panel, inverter, and labor are usually three different lengths. "Industry standard" is a non-answer.
5Financing rate. APR, term, and any dealer fee must be in writing. Hidden fees add 15 to 30 percent.
6Dealer fee. If a sales channel marks up the install, it should be a line item, not a buried number.
7System size vs your bill. An oversized system is profit for the seller, not savings for you.
8Re-shingle clause. If the roof needs shingles in 5 years, who removes and reinstalls the array.
9Cancellation window. Alberta gives you 10 days to cancel any contract signed at your door, at an event, or under pressure. It should be on the page.

Why we built this page

Your money is packets of your time.

A solar quote is a contract for tens of thousands of dollars. Whoever wrote it, you deserve to know whether the numbers, permits, financing terms, and warranty all line up.

We do not score by who knocked on your door, what brand they sell, or whether the quote is ours. We score on the contract, four things:

Is the permit included

Is the financing rate in writing

Is the price in the fair Alberta range

Is monitoring there

The math is the math.

If you got a great price from a competitor, this tool will tell you it is a great price. If you got a poor price from us, it will tell you that too. The right number is the right number, no matter whose logo is at the top.

That is the standard. Any quote, even if it is not ours, read free of charge. Dmitry Naboka, Master Electrician

Six questions. One honest verdict.

1

It is on the first page of the quote. Look for "kW" or "system size".

kW
2

Before any rebate or financing math. The big number on the bottom of page one.

$
3

In Edmonton it is usually $250 to $500 and should be its own row. No row means no permit.

4

SolarEdge, Enphase, Tigo. So you know when a panel stops producing.

5

This is not a judgement, only a pattern-check. Pressure to sign today is the real signal, no matter the channel.

6

If yes, the APR and any dealer fee must be in writing. If those numbers are missing, that is the flag.

7

Helps us spot patterns. Stays private. Never used to badmouth competitors.

Nothing to send and nothing to upload. Leave a number, he reads what the tool flagged and tells you what he would do if it were his own house. Master Electrician, 14 years in the trade. No charge and no pitch.
