Yes. Alberta homeowners with solar can earn carbon offset credits through Alberta's Emission Offset program. Your system displaces grid electricity from fossil fuels, and that reduction can be registered and sold through a verified aggregator. Most residential systems generate credits worth $200 to $400 per year. Ask us about aggregators when we do your consultation.

What is the Solar Club rate in Alberta?

The Solar Club is a rate program offered through multiple Alberta electricity retailers. You pay a LO rate of 5.90 cents per kWh when drawing from the grid, and you earn a HI rate of 35.00 cents per kWh when your panels export back to the grid. That spread is what makes solar so effective in Alberta for homeowners who size their system correctly.

What if I sell my house after solar is installed?

You have two clean options. Option 1: CEIP follows the home. Because CEIP is repaid through your property tax bill, the remaining balance transfers to the new owner with the property. Many Alberta buyers see this as a feature, they get an installed working solar system without paying upfront. Option 2: pay it off at closing through your sale proceeds, similar to discharging a mortgage. What happens if Raydn goes out of business? Who honours my warranty?

Three layers protect you. First, manufacturer warranties go direct. Panel warranties (25 years) and inverter warranties (10 to 25 years) are with the manufacturer, not us. Second, our 5-year workmanship warranty is documented and installs meet Canadian Electrical Code, so any licensed Master Electrician can service the system. Third, we are a Master Electrician and Journeyman team with 50+ completed jobs and 60+ kW of solar across Alberta since August 2025, built on referrals from Alberta homeowners.

Where these numbers come from

The CEIP numbers on this page, the 6.0 percent rate, the $50,000 residential ceiling and the 20 year term, come off the City of Edmonton page for the program, Clean Energy Improvement Program, read 27 August 2026. The city publishes 6.00 percent as the rate for the current tranche, and once your agreement is signed that rate is fixed for your whole term. The $50,000 residential cap is set in Bylaw 20678. The city caps the term at the lesser of 20 years or the useful life of the upgrades, so a shorter lived upgrade gets a shorter term.
