With a Leviton smart panel, one app runs the breakers, the lights and the EV charger, and it all works with Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings and Apple Home.

The house has solar and a 200 A service. It got a new Leviton panel, 37 smart breakers and surge protection.
Before and after
Grab the round handle and drag it sideways. Left of the line is the old panel. Right of the line is the Leviton that replaced it.
How the job went
The old panel was a plain grey box with standard breakers. We pulled it and built the Leviton in its place. Two of us, two full days. Honestly the coolest upgrade I have done in my career.
Rough in to finished
Leviton says the whole panel can be wired at rough in with no breakers present. The left photo is this panel at rough in. The right photo is the same panel finished.
What the breakers do
I install these, Leviton makes them. So these are Leviton's own claims, with a link to each one.
The My Leviton app shows what each smart breaker is drawing, plus history as kWh or a cost estimate.
Leviton app guideLeviton says you can turn its smart breakers on or off remotely, and set schedules by time and day.
Leviton LB115-ST pageLeviton's own example: set up a schedule to turn off your hot water heater at night.
Leviton smart breaker spec sheetLeviton gives the examples of a freezer not running, or an HVAC system running for too long.
Leviton smart load center pageLeviton says the lights stay lit even after a breaker trips, and identify the cause of the trip.
Leviton smart breaker spec sheetLeviton says its AFCI breakers will not reset if the arc fault protection is compromised.
Leviton LB120-AST pageOne limit, straight from Leviton's app guide: a tripped breaker must be manually restored. So a trip still means a walk to the panel. Leviton app guide

Both do the basic job of a panel. The difference is what you can see and control.
The money
A standard panel upgrade runs $2,200 to $6,500. A panel loaded like this one came in around $10,000.
You do not have to go all in. Leviton says homeowners can upgrade the whole panel or just one circuit at a time. Leviton smart load center page

Two tiers
Standard is what I put in by default. It does the job. This Leviton is the premium option, for when you want every circuit on your phone.

We had Dimitry to do all the electrical when we finished the basement for an in-law suite. When we had our final inspection we failed. We called Dimitry and told him and he showed up the next day to address the issues on the inspection report. He has made all the repairs required by the inspector and has offered to be here when the inspection is being done to ensure all is fine. We are very happy with the service.
We have used them on multiple projects and are very happy to say they are our Edmonton electricians!! They do great work and are very professional !

Questions
This one, a 66 space panel with 37 smart breakers and surge protection, came in around $10,000. A standard panel upgrade runs $2,200 to $6,500. I quote yours after I see your panel and your circuits.
Yes. Leviton says homeowners can upgrade the whole panel or just one circuit at a time. The smart breakers are designed for the Leviton panel, so the panel comes first. I can price it both ways so you can compare.
No. Leviton says a tripped breaker must be manually restored. The app turns breakers off and on, runs schedules and shows live watts. A trip still means a walk to the panel, and the breaker's own light tells you why it tripped.
Leviton lists live watts for each smart breaker, history as kWh or a cost estimate, and alerts for things like a freezer not running or an HVAC system running for too long.
On this house the solar lands on its own two pole smart breaker. Leviton says its Whole Home Energy Monitor can also track production from solar, a battery or a generator, with extra current sensors added for those.
This one took two of us two full days. A bigger service or utility work on top can add time, and I will tell you that before we start.
The panel, the service, and anything downstream it touches. One crew owns the whole thing. No subs.
